Pioneering Quality in Waste Analysis: EnviroServ’s Meadowdale Laboratory Earns SANAS Recertification

As a company with a history of trailblazing achievements, we are once again proud to reaffirm our commitment to quality and compliance following the successful recertification of our Meadowdale laboratory by the South African National Accreditation System (SANAS).

Established in the early 1990s, EnviroServ’s state-of-the-art Meadowdale facility was the first waste analytical laboratory in South Africa to receive SANAS accreditation. This milestone positioned us at the forefront of environmental laboratory services — a position we continue to uphold across South Africa and beyond.

Our Meadowdale laboratory is accredited in accordance with the ISO/IEC 17025 standard, the global benchmark for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. This standard ensures that laboratories consistently deliver reliable, impartial, and technically valid results. The facility specialises in waste analysis and classification in line with the United Nations Globally Harmonised System of Classification (GHS), as outlined in SANS 10234 and mandated under the National Environmental Management: Waste Act (Act No. 59 of 2008).

Recently, our team underwent a rigorous SANAS reassessment aligned with the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard. The result? Continued accreditation – a clear demonstration of our laboratory’s sustained technical proficiency, scientific integrity and quality assurance.

This recertification further strengthens EnviroServ’s ability to support safe, compliant waste management through:

In-depth analysis and classification of waste streams to ensure regulatory compliance;

Internal water quality testing, helping us monitor and manage water conditions at our open and closed waste management facilities.
