EnviroServ Hosts IWMSA Executive Officer at Holfontein Waste Management Facility

2025 / 01 / 21

At EnviroServ, we are always looking for ways to drive forward sustainable waste management practices, and our recent engagement with the Institute of Waste Management of Southern Africa (IWMSA) is a prime example of this commitment.

On 15 January 2025, we had the honour of hosting Nicolle de Bruyn, the Executive Officer of IWMSA, at our Holfontein Waste Management Facility. This visit allowed us to showcase our cutting-edge waste management solutions and discuss the future of the industry.

A Valuable Discussion on Waste Management Innovation
The visit kicked off with a meeting between Nicolle de Bruyn and EnviroServ's leadership team members, including Nico Vermeulen, Operations Director, and Esme Gombault, Technical Director. During the meeting, we discussed the latest advancements in waste management strategies, the importance of sustainable practices, and our ongoing efforts to stay ahead of regulatory requirements.

Following the discussion, Nicolle was given a comprehensive tour of the Holfontein facility, which serves as a showcase of EnviroServ’s commitment to integrating innovative technologies in our waste treatment and management operations. From state-of-the-art recycling processes to cutting-edge waste solutions, Holfontein exemplifies our dedication to environmental stewardship and sustainability.

Strengthening Relationships with Key Stakeholders
This visit is part of IWMSA’s initiative to engage with its members and understand their needs, as well as to shape the future direction of waste management practices in southern Africa. As Nicolle de Bruyn shared, "By fostering closer relationships with key players in the sector, IWMSA aims to support the evolution of waste management practices. We want to ensure that IWMSA is responsive to the challenges and expectations of its members."

At EnviroServ, we believe in the power of collaboration to drive positive change in the industry, and we are committed to working with organisations like IWMSA to create a more sustainable future for all.

A Commitment to Sustainable Solutions
"We were thrilled to host Nicolle and share the incredible work being done within EnviroServ," said Nico Vermeulen, Operations Director at EnviroServ. "The Holfontein facility is a prime example of how innovative waste management solutions can drive environmental sustainability while providing economic benefits to stakeholders, including local communities. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with IWMSA to further enhance the industry’s standards and practices."

Looking to the Future
This visit underscores EnviroServ’s ongoing commitment to leading the way in sustainable waste management and environmental responsibility. We are proud of the work being done at Holfontein and are excited to continue our collaboration with IWMSA and other industry players to help shape the future of waste management in southern Africa.

At EnviroServ, we remain focused on advancing our operations, implementing cutting-edge solutions, and supporting the sustainable development of industries and communities across the region.
