EnviroServ helps customers reduce plastic waste to landfill.

July may be the month where there is a focus on reducing plastic waste at home and at work, but EnviroServ helps our customers wage war on plastic daily. .

Plastic Free July is a global movement encouraging individuals and businesses to make small changes to refuse and reduce the use of single-use plastic.

If you’re considering how your business can reduce plastic waste, let one of EnviroServ’s trained waste specialists conduct a waste assessment at your site, where we can identify which waste streams are recyclable. Things like shrink wrap and PET bottles are among those which can be diverted from landfill to reduce carbon emissions into the environment. Using existing plastic to make a new product has a lighter environmental footprint.

Having EnviroServ sorters present on your site to physically handle separation of waste means that your volumes of recyclable waste will increase, providing you with a rebate – a great way to earn money but also decrease costs of sending waste to landfill. Contaminated waste cannot be recycled, so having implementing Separation at Source, with the help of EnviroServ, helps to reduce this problem.

We have a variety of alternative solutions for grades of plastic which cannot be recycled.

However – the ideal solution is plastic avoidance. In your canteen, instead of serving food in single use plastics, staff can be requested to bring their own lunch boxes. Companies need to ask their manufacturers to change their packaging – the best way to reduce plastic waste is to change processes or use a more recyclable plastic.
