Owners of contaminated land must comply with Part 8 of the National Environmental Management: Waste Act, (no. 59 of 2008) pertaining to contaminated land.
EnviroServ’s SANAS 17025 accredited laboratory can assist with waste assessments and classification on contaminated land to advise on and handle disposal to landfill. This can be used in the support document for remediation plans to be submitted to the Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA). Should compliant disposal to landfill be the DEA’s approved option, EnviroServ can initiate a remediation project including removal of contaminated land, and transport to a compliant landfill site where any required treatment is applied prior to disposal.
We will also evaluate treatment of waste on site, or if viable economic opportunities exist to use one of the many alternatives to landfill. Bio remediation of the land is also an option.
